They say nowadays that print media is a dying media and I am forced to agree with them. Gone are the days you have to drag yourself out of bed at 6 am to catch the morning paper on your way to work. You dont even have to worry about spilling your coffee all over the sports page anymore, just read it on your phone. Growing up I started consuming books at a high rate, my dads library was my main source. I read the first harry potter book in a weekend read every other subsequent volume just as fast. Why does print seem to be dying out, well i think its because it is not as easy to access. I can connect to a few thousand online editions of newspapers spread across the entire world as I sit here. My phone alone can hold 32 gigabytes of data which translates to a lot of booksand the fact that you are reading this means that you too prefer the virtual word. With that kind of power, sitting down to just read one newspaper seems like it requires a lot of restraint.
Everytime i try to just chill and have a read then two paragraphs in ,my mind has wandered. Gone are the days a good book would have me lost in its world for hours. I have the patience for magazines, newspapers, books but I dont have the patience to read print.......
