All movie fanatics have watched what I would refer to as a great work of art starring Leonardo Di Caprio called "The Aviator". The film gives a look into the ups and downs of inventor, movie director, billionare etc Howard Hughes. At 22 years old and having inherited his parents fortune, he started directing a movie known as Hells angels. Most movie buffs know that it usually takes an average of one year for a movie from filming to release, Howard took over 3 years and almost 4 million dollars( which according to dollartimes.com translates to almost 52 million dollars in 2014). This doesn't sound like much when you factor in that most blockbusters today are made with a budget of at least 100 million dollars but bear in mind he financed this from his own money and was part of every decision that was made. That kind of budget was actually unheard of in those days.
One of the most interesting decisions that he made during filming was waiting almost 8 months for the right set of clouds that would be necessary as a background to ensure the planes look like they are moving much faster than they actually are. The search for perfection is what I would call it, most people would call it insanity but those individuals have probably never felt that need or urge deep within their gut to accomplish something and nothing would get in the way.
You know that point in time where you only have tunnel vision and nothing else matters but your goal. How do you harness this kind of feeling for all your tasks? I'm no psychologist but I don't think you can replicate that feeling to everything you do. With this in mind I'd like to differentiate between someone who has a job and another how has a career. If you have a job then every waking minute to you feels like an eternity and if you have a career then there aren't enough hours in a day. As a job owner you may not be able to be passionate with your work but as a career person I am sure you have had those days when day turns into night before you know what happens. Aspire to have a career or you will just be another zombie.....
A man’s primary purpose in life is to provide, both for the present and the future. Often, nothing he possesses naturally is seen as inherently valuable. For a woman, however, the opposite is true, as she is born with much of what is deemed valuable for the species. It's a rather bleak topic to discuss, yet it reflects a truth we have come to understand. Recently, I buried a great man who did everything right, though it wasn’t enough to earn him the long life he so deserved. Born and raised in poverty, he was on his way to becoming the best in his field, until he met someone he couldn't resist. As a child, he encountered a beautiful girl whom he believed could walk on water. Their young love blossomed in the dusty, rural farmlands of western Kenya, only for life’s circumstances to separate them for nearly two decades. During their time apart, he built a foundation that his peers from the village could only dream of. From barefoot maize harvests in the village to excelling at a ...
