IT ALL STARTED WITH A PRAYER.....

There is a Swahili saying I heard as a child that if translated states that a good day is seen in the morning. All ye Swahili speakers can attest to this  or correct my words. The tempo of your day is truly governed by how you wake up and what feelings you have for the day ahead. I recently had a feeling so powerful as to require me seek guidance from a higher power. I know there are atheists out there who don't believe in God but as one who grew up in the church and was schooled in believing that there is something greater, I would be a fool not to.
This fateful morning ,like most others, I woke up reluctant to start my day but did a quick self evaluation and realized a few things. I was going nowhere, I had just gotten a promotion but I was just trudging a long on my day to day duties without putting much meaning to my life. I wasn't doing anything I enjoyed and not even constant partying was helping. So I did what every man did when they are at their wits end, I surrendered to the higher power and asked for help. A few sentences spoken in silence and hidden away asking for guidance and a path. It is all too simple I know but that moment you place your trust in something bigger than yourself then you do have an easier time and stuff starts happening. Needless to say the one thing I asked for is the one thing I got. Doubters would just say that whatever I had asked for was an inevitebility. Say what you want but all I know is that what I have asked for I have almost always gotten whether in the short run or the long run.
People go to crusades and speak loudly about the miracles that have been done and how their life has changed since they joined a certain church but I treat it all as PR because just the same way the biggest deals are struck behind closed doors so should prayer.

I realized early in life that we are tiny, by tiny I mean relative to the entire universe. I would wonder whether somewhere out there in a star system far away there was a child asking the same questions like me. I am unsure about the parallel universe theories but I am sure that with the size of our universe then we are definitely not alone. Just to give you a concept, here is a video to help you out.

With this mind I have continued to try and see my problems as insignificant and easily solved, it isn't easy but you should try and if you want something just know that it all started with a prayer.......

She killed him.........................

A man’s primary purpose in life is to provide, both for the present and the future. Often, nothing he possesses naturally is seen as inherently valuable. For a woman, however, the opposite is true, as she is born with much of what is deemed valuable for the species. It's a rather bleak topic to discuss, yet it reflects a truth we have come to understand. Recently, I buried a great man who did everything right, though it wasn’t enough to earn him the long life he so deserved. Born and raised in poverty, he was on his way to becoming the best in his field, until he met someone he couldn't resist. As a child, he encountered a beautiful girl whom he believed could walk on water. Their young love blossomed in the dusty, rural farmlands of western Kenya, only for life’s circumstances to separate them for nearly two decades. During their time apart, he built a foundation that his peers from the village could only dream of. From barefoot maize harvests in the village to excelling at a ...

Someone needs to shoot the DEEJAY....

Expensive drinks and high cover charges, that's the price I pay for a hassle free night in a club with great ambience. A great night to me is rated against some distinct markers. Company,  choice of beverage and location.  Company ,if it's not your usual crew, has to be put together systematically to ensure you don't end up with troublemakers but with more fun loving and well behaved people.  The choice of beverage is just dictated by location and company. House parties should have more hard liquor than beers while the club scene requires more portability with regards to cans and bottles for the more agile of this generation. The last and usually most important, location location location. What goes into a location; distance,  cost, ratio of the sexes,  neighborhood and the music. If you are already used to certain clubs then the only variable present is the sexes and music.  Unless you are bringing your own company then the ratio doesn't bother you much b...

Most of what I know I learned from television........

Ever watched the movie sarafina, well my mum and I watched it 3 times in cinema when I was barely 5 years old. Since then I have either kept a VHS tape or DVD nearby just in case I want to watch it. For those who know all the lines by heart, remember the day that Miss Masumbuga's ( Whoopie Goldberg's character) class needed to come up with an idea for the school show and she walked in late, she screamed ' Better late than never'. That question came in an exam that I hadn't read for when I was just a kid and I remembered the answer. Who gave you the talk? You know, about the birds and the bees etc. Well I don't exactly remember the actual show but I did learn quite a bit from 7nth heaven. I didn't have to go through the traumatic experience of getting the talk from my parents. Who taught you how to tie a tie? My father tried to teach me but I kept tying fat notes. Remember that scene in true lies where Arnold Schwarzenegger was tying his tie in the mirror ...
