1,000 YEARS OF HUMAN LIFE....

According to internetlivestats.com there are over 3 billion internet users in the world right now. This represents over 40% of the worlds population, think about it. Almost half the world is "connected" which means that a lot of other crazy statistics come to light.
A website call Alexa populates and stores these stats, they rank all the websites according to the individual or unique users who visit it and how many pages they visited it. Here is a screen shot of the top ten sites today.
Without a doubt google.com reigns supreme as the number one site accessed in the world. You wonder why Sergei and Larry are so rich, because everyone uses their search engine. As an I.T. guy I actually find it idiotic that people dont memorize URLs anymore. If you are like me you understand this, someone would rather google facebook then click on the top result which is usually the site then go to it. I have seen it a million times, its making us lazy. But I digress, so why is the ranking so important. Well , the company can actually see the demographic that access their website and tailor make their products for them. Case in point, blogger is a distant position 92 and from the statistics is mostly accessed by women. Below is a screen shot of the stats from google.com.

Those numbers don't exactly shock me, what shocks me is the amount of time people spend on the 3rd best site on the web, youtube.com. A company usually calculates how much time loss the have by man hours which is basically a total of the amount of time each individual would have spent performing tasks. Companies usually explain that loss in hours, how about explaining time spent in years. You see how you sit down after work and you are probably waiting for it to stop raining or for your ride to get there. What relaxes you, Im guessing a cat video. Like dear kitten.
Really funny stuff right, but did you know that if you put together the amount of time that people spent on just one you-tube channel it can be equated to over 1,000 years of human life. The channel in question is MKBH and the host usually reviews the latest in tech improvements, consumer advice on devices etc. The videos in his channel have been viewed in 2014 over 130 million times and people have spent over 548 million minutes watching them. He isn't even the highest ranked channel but people are on there. Just in case you don't believe me, here is a screen shot of the stats and the video that he says this.

So how long do you spend watching youtube videos.....

She killed him.........................

A man’s primary purpose in life is to provide, both for the present and the future. Often, nothing he possesses naturally is seen as inherently valuable. For a woman, however, the opposite is true, as she is born with much of what is deemed valuable for the species. It's a rather bleak topic to discuss, yet it reflects a truth we have come to understand. Recently, I buried a great man who did everything right, though it wasn’t enough to earn him the long life he so deserved. Born and raised in poverty, he was on his way to becoming the best in his field, until he met someone he couldn't resist. As a child, he encountered a beautiful girl whom he believed could walk on water. Their young love blossomed in the dusty, rural farmlands of western Kenya, only for life’s circumstances to separate them for nearly two decades. During their time apart, he built a foundation that his peers from the village could only dream of. From barefoot maize harvests in the village to excelling at a ...

Read, it isn't illegal yet....

A little fault with our generation today is, we don't read as much as we should. I know the story of romeo and juliet but I have never read the play, I know of someone who was called Confucios but I cannot recall a single word of wisdom.  Its with this premise i point out a sentence from a famous Nicholas Cage Movie (Lord Of War). 'Evil prevails when good men fail to Act. Poetic as these words are, I cannot base my life or career behind them. Most of us give ourselves the title of good men but we probably wouldn't quit our jobs because the company we work for employs slave labour in harvesting its crops, we wouldn't boycott the purchase of a product because some kids in china are in sweatshops making them for meagre wages etc.  Don't think, not for one second that a person in authority would like the status quo to change. This is simply because it's either profitable or more comfortable for them. How many politicians have been elected to lead certain areas and l...

You may be the reason your brother is missing a leg.....

When a new television series comes out the guys producing it want to know whether its a hit or they perform what they call test screenings. Simple enough they put together people representing different demographics and get their feedback. Well I did the exact same thing with the topic of today and It was a unanimous scream of disgust and disbelief. Simply put ,it caught the attention of all the people I tested it on. Just to give my topic a little background i will start by explaining a simple known theory known as "Butterfly effect". If you have watched the movie then you know what i mean. If you haven't watched it or run into it at some point then  , In  chaos theory , the  butterfly effect is the sensitive dependency on initial conditions in which a small change at one place in a deterministic  nonlinear system  can result in large differences in a later state. In a nutshell, a butterfly could flap its wings in one part of the world and ...
